1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MakeMyBiography ("the Service", "we", "our", or "us") at makemybiography.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Description of Service

MakeMyBiography is an online platform that allows registered users to:

• Answer guided questions across life chapter categories
• Upload personal photographs to accompany their story
• Generate AI-assisted biography prose from their answers
• Download their biography as a formatted PDF document
• Share their biography with others via secure links

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use. Features and availability may change at any time.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service you must create an account, either using an email address and password or by signing in with Google. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information when registering
• Use only an email address that belongs to you or that you are authorised to use
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with others
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

If you register with an email address and password, we currently do not verify ownership of that email address before account access is granted. You acknowledge that account notifications, password recovery, share notices, and support communications may depend on the accuracy of the email address you provide. We may suspend, restrict, or delete accounts that appear to use another person's email address, impersonate another person, or provide false account information.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Accounts created by those under 13 will be deleted upon discovery.

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including your written answers, photographs, and any biography text generated using your input ("Your Content").

By submitting content, you grant MakeMyBiography a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating the Service for you. We will never sell, publish, or share Your Content with third parties without your explicit consent.

You are solely responsible for Your Content. You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the right to use all content you submit
• Your content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
• Your content does not contain anything unlawful, defamatory, invasive of privacy, or harmful
• You have any consent or authority required to upload private information, photographs, or stories about another person

MakeMyBiography is not responsible for disputes, claims, or harm caused by content that you choose to enter, upload, generate, publish, download, or share, except where applicable law does not allow such limitation.

5. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses third-party AI models to generate biography prose and answer suggestions based on your input. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated text is a starting point and may not perfectly reflect your intended meaning
• You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any AI-generated content before sharing it
• AI suggestions are non-deterministic — results may vary on repeated generation
• MakeMyBiography is not liable for inaccuracies in AI-generated text

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Submit content that is false, misleading, defamatory, or harmful to others
• Create an account using an email address you do not own or have permission to use
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or relationship to any person
• Upload material that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property
• Upload another person's private or sensitive information without appropriate authority or consent
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service in an automated manner
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

7. Biography Sharing

When you create a share link, you are responsible for who you share it with. MakeMyBiography provides tools to revoke links and restrict access to logged-in users, but we cannot control what recipients do with content they have lawfully accessed. You share your biography at your own discretion.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MakeMyBiography is not responsible for copying, screenshots, forwarding, publication, misuse, or other actions by recipients or by anyone who receives access through you or a recipient.

8. PDF Downloads

PDF generation is available to users who have completed at least 50% of their biography. Downloaded PDFs are your property. You may print, distribute, or share them freely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

9. Availability and Changes

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice of significant changes where possible.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MakeMyBiography disclaims all warranties including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

In no event shall MakeMyBiography be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

We are not responsible for losses, claims, or disputes caused by inaccurate account details, use of an email address without permission, content you submit without sufficient rights, or content you choose to share outside the Service, except where applicable law does not allow such limitation.

11. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from your profile settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your answers, photos, biography text, share links, and account information will be permanently removed from our active systems. Backup copies, if any, may remain for a limited period as part of normal security and disaster recovery processes. Downloaded PDFs and content shared with others prior to deletion are not recoverable from recipients.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance.
